Thoughts on a Beautiful Life...
My Itouch (which I so aptly and creatively have labeled "BrItouch") is definitely the soundtrack of my life-- It's random, varied and effective. The songs don't always hit the mark and there are plenty of times that my finger quickly shoots off to the "NEXT" button to skip whatever song pops up that I don't feel represents the moment I'm in. I know you know what I'm talking about.
Earlier today a song popped up that I hadn't heard in about a year. I had forgotten about it being one of my favorites of recent memory and when it started, I was immediately pulled back into it's message for me. It's called "Life Is Beautiful" by Vega4. Check it out.
Here are the lyrics. After you read through them (if you choose to, anyway...lol), I want talk about it in sections. Just a little healthy personal dissection.
Life is beautiful
We love until we die
When you run into my arms,
We steal a perfect moment.
Let the monsters see you smile,
Let them see you smiling.
Do I hold you too tightly?
When will the hurt kick in?
Life is beautiful, but it's complicated.
We barely make it.
We don't need to understand,
There are miracles, miracles.
Yeah, life is beautiful.
Our hearts, they beat and break.
When you run away from harm,
Will you run back into my arms,
Like you did when you were young?
Will you come back to me?
Life is Challenge. Life is Pain. Life is Learning. Life is Love. And, yes... I have long believed that Life, in spite of all the darkness that surrounds it, is Beautiful. In every way.

"Life is beautiful
We love until we die
When you run into my arms,
We steal a perfect moment.
Let the monsters see you smile,
Let them see you smiling."
Love is key. To love without fear is the strongest weapon against the darkness of our lives. This is not to say that we won't get hurt-- we will. Often. But, to truly love is in the choice to give it. In the darkness, there are evils that delight in our pain and suffering. When we refuse to love, we give that darkness an open invitation into our hearts and minds. When that happens, it becomes so much more difficult to return our belief that we are "lovable" or "able to love" again.

"Life is beautiful, but it's complicated.
We barely make it.
We don't need to understand,
There are miracles, miracles."
Life is a Miracle. Yes, it's complicated-- there are moments that confound, people who ignore and hurt, events that make you question the very beauty we seek. The Truth (in my opinion) is this, miracles aren't for us to "figure out". Miracles are there for us to take in. They are evident so that we might remember that, yes, there are things worth believing in and hoping for. And, they happen every day. Even little ones. Sometimes the little ones mean the most.

"When you run away from harm,
Will you run back into my arms,
Like you did when you were young?
Will you come back to me?"
We all have our failures. We all have the pains that we've caused others. We've all made mistakes. There is something beautiful in the Truth that no matter what we've been through, no matter what we think we've done, no matter how far gone we think we may be there is a Love so strong waiting for your return. With open arms, tears of joy, and warm kisses. That is Beautiful. Life is Beautiful. And that is what gives me hope.
