Without my writing a single word, I'll bet you'd be well aware that Pixar has indeed created something amazing for us all to pay attention to yet again. And you would be correct. Toy Story 3 (in real D 3D) takes us on an emotional journey of inspiration, friendship, and surprisingly, the deepest strength of true love.
So, how is it so easy for these life lessons to be taught (to the young) and reminded to us (everyone else) through the vehicle of animated toys? There is something so simple and endearing at how Pixar works and brings it's stories to "life" for all of us to experience. They take us back to our own childhoods with ease and a breathe humanity; back into the ideals and the experiences we had forgotten.
We are lost children who have forgotten who we are and how to imagine. Toy Story takes us on a journey of life and reminds how we fit in that life. In all the adventures and mishaps, one quality is clear above all others-- loving others above yourself is an ideal worth living out.
I for one absolutely love everything Pixar has done. However, the trilogy of Toy Story is my favorite because it reminds us subtly who we really are and what is truly important in our relationships with one another. Even when our hearts are broken, when love is lost, and "growing up" has turned us away from the memories of youthful imagination, there can be a joy that we can know at how strongly we've loved (or tried to love) and how we've served a life other than our own.
Enjoy.
